Now that the holidays are over January is my month to reflect and rejuvenate so I can be the best version of myself and I picked the best Charleston spa to do it at – Woodhouse Day Spa. For my recent facial I got the “Restore and Firm” and my aesthetician customized it according to my skin’s needs. To get rid of all that dead winter skin we started out with Microdermabrasion which is a non-invasive procedure that exfoliates to help remove the superficial layer of dead skin cells. This procedure is also great to even out pigmentation, reduce fine lines and clogged pores, plus all of your skincare and beauty products will work so much better because they don’t have to penetrate the skin as much.

Maya Chia is one of my favorite skincare products and they’re locally made right here in Charleston. Their wonder balm is nothing short of amazing for your skin and lips, plus it’s organic and paraben-free.

Along with facials and massages they also offer sleep treatments, wraps, scrubs, hand and foot treatments, and waxings. I’ve also experienced the Lazy Days Renewal Ritual which is 80 minutes of pure heaven. They start with a body scrub using the finest organic, hand-harvested seaweed for silky, soft skin and detoxification. After the exfoliation, you immerse yourself in soothing waters with seaweed, sea salt and aromatherapy essences of spice and citrus for a relaxing and renewing tub soak. The pure relaxation journey ends with a 45 minute massage using nourishing seaweed and toning oil.

I had the pleasure of having a day date with my husband Gustavo at the new location and we relished in our kid-free afternoon. We took advantage of their seasonal treatment which is the Wintermint Replenishment manicure and pedicure. The experience includes a crisp, fizzing coconut oil soak – scented with yummy notes of peppermint and gingersnap, followed by a warm fine grain sea salt scrub that buffed our dull winter-parched skin. My nail therapist Mariah massaged a whipped mousse containing clean, green fragrant notes of wintermint, apple and vetiver into my dehydrated skin.
