The Hippest Hotel in Charleston
I recently took a tour and dined at The Ryder Hotel, Charleston’s hippest new hotel. Even though it’s located in the heart of downtown Charleston, you’re instantly transported to Palm Springs or Miami.
I was overwhelmed by the tropical, retro, bohemian inspired decor thanks to local interior designer Cortney Bishop. I could easily see myself redecorating my house to look like The Ryder Hotel.
My favorite new restaurant inside the Ryder is the Little Palm Bar, conveniently located next to the pool.
The food and beverage experiences are by Gin & Luck, the hospitality company behind Death & Co in L.A. Their dishes center on fresh, seasonal ingredients prepared simply and honestly with lots of vegetarian options.
Some of my favorites are the ICED CRUDITÉ with Summer vegetables, smoked cashew ranch; HEIRLOOM TOMATO with Buttered toast, duke’s, cider vinegar; LOCAL OYSTERS; GRILLED WATERMELON with Arugula, sweet herbs, pistachio, preserved lemon; CORN CUSTARD with Butterbean salad, feta, chive, chile.
Of course I couldn’t eat all of this delicious food by myself. My dear friend Julianne Taylor, Libby Williams, and my summer intern Morgan helped sample all the amazing eats.
I eat mostly plant based meals and it’s rare to find a lot of veggie options in Charleston where I can eat almost everything on the menu. Little Palm Bar fills a big void in Charleston dining and I can’t wait to go back and take the hubby.
Julianne Taylor aka Juju always brings that Good Juju. I’m so excited for her Buru collab happening this past weekend!
We chose The Ryder Hotel as the location to style her in this whimsical and retro inspired collection. Shop the limited edition JUJU x BURU collection!
The pool deck on the second floor is the place to see and be seen. The indoor/outdoor Little Palm Bar is where you can order your cocktail – mocktail poolside and sip in style.
Accessories always make an outfit. Whether you’re a minimalist or a maximalist, every outfit needs an accent. Check out the latest jewels from Croghan’s Jewel Box including these gorgeous scarab earrings by @capucinedewulf
The brand is actually based right here in Charleston and I have unknowingly been pulling the jewelry for my recent shoots because I’m so drawn to it. I love anything that has vintage aesthetic and Croghan’s Jewel Box always has a great mix of estate jewelry and modern collections. They are redesigning my wedding ring and I can’t wait to reveal it next month!
