Mindfulness Mindset
October is the calm before the storm. Everything is a blur once Halloween hits and then it’ll be 2022 before you know it! I try to take time for some self-care and make sure I’m having some real down-time when I’m not shooting. Last week I got to hang with my girls Anna Senise and Elina McLaughlin at Freshfields Village. We did some shopping, yoga, and ate sushi at Freshfields Village for some mindfullness mindset reset. Anna just got her yogi certification so we got a sample session at Andell Inn at Freshfields Village.
It’s always important to start the day with intention and mindfulness. Whether you do a workout or quick meditation, you must take care of yourself before you can take care of others.
We popped into Lululemon to check out their wide variety of workout and athleisure clothing. The fabric and design is perfect for any active lifestyle. From a workout to running errands, you always look stylish and put together.
After our yoga sesh we stopped by one of my favorites, Fuji Sushi Bar and Grill. They offer everything from the most creative rolls, to Bento boxes, fresh bowls, and all the yummy apps you would find at a Japanese restaurant. We started our lunch with some Moscow Mules, non-alcoholic of course. The menu can be overwhelming because everything looks so good. I love sharing what I get at restaurants because I want everyone to have the same delicious experience as me.
Start off with the Avocado Salad because they don’t skimp, and that carrot ginger dressing spices things up. Speaking of spice, you have to get the Edamame because they toss it with cayenne pepper for that extra kick. You can’t go wrong with Seaweed Salad either because it’s so fresh and healthy.
If you are dining with 3 or more you have to get a boat(load) of sushi.
We ordered:
THE GRAND HAIGOO – Tuna, tempura flake, cucumber, avocado, wrapped in soy paper, topped with salmon and escolar, tobiko, and wasabi sauce.
HALLOWEEN ROLL – Grilled eel and cucumber wrapped in seasoned seaweed topped with avocado, spicy tuna, spicy crab, eel sauce, sriracha, and tempura flakes.
DOUBLE TUNA ROLL – Spicy tuna, cucumber, and avocado topped with seared tuna, masago, and oba sauce. RAINBOW ROLL – California roll topped with tuna, white tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and avocado.
For simple vegetarian rolls we had the OSHINKO ROLL which is pickled radishes and the MANGO ROLL.
Then we somehow found room to eat the Moshi ice cream which comes in sample flavors like coconut and green tea.
We didn’t want the fun to end so our next stop was at J. McLaughlin for a fall try on session. Their Freshfields store is beautifully decorated and always stock full of their latest collection. They are in full swing into their fall attire and I was immediately drawn to this suit. Everyone needs a suit in their closet – solid or patterned, it instantly elevates your look. Their tailored fit is so flattering and everything is machine washable. I love polished and put together clothing that has low maintenance care.
Don’t forget about all of the sophisticated accessories to pair with your new fall looks at J. McLaughlin. Their shoes and bags are classic and timeless and will never go out of style. They even like to have fun with their readers like this leopard print style.
