Diamonds are Forever

There’s nothing more special than custom jewelry that incorporates something old and something new. I’ve always wanted to re-design my wedding rings and incorporate my mother’s and grandmother’s rings. I knew I could entrust Rhett the owner of Croghan’s Jewel Box to envision a design that would be timeless and also honor the most important women in my life. The final product was more than I could ever dream of. My wedding band is a yellow gold square design and my white gold stackable engagement rings never matched it. Rhett suggested we work with Singlestone L.A. to create a ring that would work harmoniously with my existing band. I’ve always been a fan of their iconic “Cobblestone” design of tiny diamonds sprinkled on everything from rings, to earrings, and charms. How perfect is it that I also get to pay homage to the city that I love with our cobblestone streets dating back to the 17th century?

Singlestone L.A. is based in Los Angeles and is known for their selected vintage diamonds from around the world. Timeless jewelry with a nod to the past.

Rhett at Croghan’s Jewel Box suggested we use the extra 4 diamonds on either side of the band to represent my 2 boys Mateo & Sebastian and my mother Stephanie & Grandma Rose. It’s little things like this that make this ring so sentimental and special. As my 18 year wedding anniversary approaches on September 13th I couldn’t think of a better way to commemorate almost 2 decades of marriage to my best friend Gustavo.

Here are my original rings. The stackable ones were my engagement rings, the flower ones were my mothers, and the smaller art deco ones were my grandmother’s.

If you are looking to re-design or customize jewelry that’s just been sitting in a box, I highly suggest taking it to Croghan’s Jewel Box. They have a staff of skilled bench jewelers and certified gemologists that can create anything your heart desires. If you want something inspired by the designs of Singlestone L.A. Croghan’s can work with their skilled artisans to create something unique. Croghan’s Jewel Box also offers jewelry repair that includes Chain & Charm Soldering, Clasp Replacement, Clean & Check, Earring Post & Backs, Pearl Stringing, Prong Repair & Re-tipping, Rhodium Plating & Refinishing, Ring Sizing & Sizing Beads, Shank Repair & Replacement, and Stone Repair & Replacement. You know you can trust a family owned business that has been on King Street for over 100 years. Their customer service and selection in fine jewelry is incomparable. They also care about our community and are so generous when they give back. That’s why they’re such a gem in the city of Charleston!

I love layering all the Croghan’s jewels with this robe and pants by Terese Sydonna. We originally connected many years ago at Charleston Fashion Week when she was an emerging designer. I love her recent “Birds of Paradise” collection inspired by New Orleans, a city that we both are inspired by. Use code ASCURATES10 for 10% off Terese Sydonna.
