Fall is in the air at Freshfields

Fall is in the air, I can smell it! Or maybe it’s just because I made a trip to Palmetto Scent Studio at Freshfields Village. I love this interactive local shop filled with the sweetest scented candles and you can even create your own custom scent. They have expanded their offerings and now you can make diffusers, body creams, soaps, body mists, and sugar scrubs. Have a look at more of fall at Freshfields Village in Kiawah!

There are over 120 scents to choose from so the possibilities are endless. I’m a candle hoarder so when I come here, I can’t help myself. This time around I wanted to try their body cream. It’s made from goat milk and honey and is also paraben free. I went with a mix of seasonal scents – mulled cider, bourbon and cinnamon. I love that even though it still feels like it’s 100 degrees outside I smell like a brisk fall day.

The first step is to choose 3 scents that work cohesively together. Glenda, the owner is the kindest woman and is of course an expert of scent pairings so she can help guide you on the best mixes.

Then you pour the oils into a tiny beaker a little bit at a time to get the right combination.

Then you fold in the oils with a spoon and Glenda mixes it up in a blender. I love how my scented body cream came out, it definitely got me in the fall state of mind. It comes in a big container so it should last me all season unless my kids try to eat it, it smells too yummy.

Palmetto Scent Studio is a fun place to host many events – birthday parties (both kids and adults love it), bachelorette parties, girls’ night out, and corporate events. They’ve got a ton of events happening this fall including a hump day happy hour this Wednesday and they’ll be a part of the Sip & Stroll next Thursday. Check their website for all of the events.

Things really ramp up in the fall at Freshfields Village. Their Sip & Strolls start again this month and will continue to be on the 3rd Thursday for the next few months. Check out their full schedule of events!
