Garden Dresses at Drayton Hall

Dress by Crosby by Mollie Burch $248 from Rhodes Boutique

Garden Dresses at Drayton Hall – Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Drayton Hall and discovering their beautiful property. Dating back to 1738, Drayton Hall is part of the historic plantations in Charleston, and as I found out they are related to all of them. The history is kept alive and preserved in the house, the Gates Gallery and the Lenhardt Garden.

It’s been a year since the new garden at Drayton Hall was completed and includes flowers mentioned in the Drayton Diaries. Detailed records of the plants on the property, some collected from as far away as Europe, and were written by Charles Drayton, the second owner of Drayton Hall and son of the builder, John Drayton.

I wanted to enhance the garden’s beauty with this floral dress from Rhodes Boutique. They stock the most beautiful selection of feminine and flirty dresses and separates. Located in South Windermere they are conveniently located to anyone in James Island, West Ashley, and downtown. They also have great prices, especially on their accessories. I can’t help but buy something every time I pop in. I love these earrings by Shop Treasure Jewels for only $38!

Rhodes Boutique will be participating in the Charleston Boutique Warehouse sale on August 3rd and 4th. This semi-annual event at the Omar Shrine Temple will host local boutiques and brands selling merchandise up to 90% off. It’s your chance to stock up on Spring and Summer merchandise at deep discounts all under one roof.

Rhodes Boutique has a big fall trunk show planned for September so keep in touch with them on Instagram. And if you love them as much as I do then vote for them on the Post & Courier’s Charleston’s Choice.

The gift shop at Drayton Hall isn’t your typical tourist store filled with useless tchotchkes. Instead, thoughtful and artistic merchandise from local brands fills the shelves and display cases. They carry local favorites like the Charleston Rice Beads from Candy Shop Vintage, Goldbug Collection from Mini at Croghan’s Jewel Box, Zags, and Old Whaling Co. just to name a few. They also carry high-end art reproductions to pieces inspired by the Drayton Family’s extensive porcelain collection and local food favorites. Stop by this gem to take in some history and shopping!
